#PrideMonth is here! We take our name from the Stonewall Uprising, the protests in response to persistent police brutality on 28 June 1969 that gave way to the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. A year later, on 28 June 1970, the first-ever Pride event took place in New York City.

Tragic story on @BBCr4today adoption breakdown following unmanaged contact. Family describes 'screaming into a void' for help. Though breakdowns still rare - about 3% - reinforces the case for radical changes to adoption support. @RachaelMaskell

@Barclays just been refused to open my children’s bank account via video banking because they have adoption certificates! If we had“birth certificates” we could open it! Your worker explained it’s your policy! Shame on you.. #adoptionjourney@AdoptionUK - 🏳️🌈@stonewalluk
In case you missed it. We are offering final year students a chance to take a look back at our week-long conference and to get in touch with us if you would like further information from any of the councils who took part.Visit our website to find out more: https://t.co/DT52bsmQUe
@barclays this IS discrimination!!! Why should an adopted child have less of a service than a child who is not adopted! As a gay man am I allowed to bank with you? Or do I need to be straight? #discrimination#LGBTQ#adoptionuk
@Lee_H_Williams Hey Lee, I'm so sorry about your experience, I'm more sorry that you feel that this is discriminative as well - I'm afraid that we can physically only accept a child's birth certificate or their passport, in order to create a profile for them for the application. 1/2
