@buchmanster@cosmos@tendermint_team Hi. I am hyung from bharvest. Is the offer still valid? Somewhere in cosmos, there should be a place where the date is still feb 28, if you've ever heard about big bang theory. ๐ง
@bitfalls@EFDevcon@OnionIoT Thanks for the detailed answer. Great to see such an effort to bring validating to homes. But I am not still convinced about economical incentives. ETH enthusiast might try validating but for normal person, validating should be cost effective. Especially..
@bitfalls@EFDevcon Still there are more to consider, including mental stress cost, human labor for monitoring, risk value of being hacked, bandwidth cost, software updating labor cost, illiquidity cost(if validator cannot withdraw ETH immediately), risk of being slashed.
@bitfalls@EFDevcon Electricity for normal desktop PC(per month)
24h X 0.1kWh X 30days X 12.7cents/kWh = about $9
Depreciation of desktop PC by 5 years(per month)
$1000 / (5X12) = $16
Physical cost combined is larger than at least $25/month
Binance, an exchange less than a year old, makes $200M per year in revenue. If not photoshopped, this is a pic of the CEO, hanging out with dignitaries in Bermuda.
This is why I love #cryptocurrencies. https://t.co/fl4f8SSQjP
@SatoshiLite how to deal with transaction cancellation and changes of exchange rate of btc/usdt? it just give back the original btc amount? or usd amout?
@VitalikButerin another way of viewing this graph is that ETH miners are enjoying stable reward(in USD) per each hashrate. ETH price fluctuate alot, but miner's ROI is relatively stable.
@VitalikButerin Higher price, more miners. Price is the indicator of miner's activity. Not vice versa. This does not mean hashrate is an indicator of ETH price. You should clarify the cause and effect.
@jbrukh@bradmillscan bitcoin is not for store of value now. it is on the way. stable user number and stable regulation and infrastructure will make bitcoin's volatility much lower. after that, the volatility of btc/usd will not be about bitcoin, but be about USD
@Heybro1985@SatoshiLite@PeterRizun selling coins is nothing to do with honesty. it is not only because of the definition of honesty, but also because holding coin does not mean ownership at all. crypto ecosystem is not like stock shareholder capitalism ecosystem
For those still wondering whether or not https://t.co/z44anVrOuT was an April Fool's joke, the answer is: it was an April Fool's meta-joke. *The point* was seeing people argue about whether or not the proposal is "real".
