Police will build a £2m replica of some elements of Grenfell. This would be to assist the understanding of a jury, not for new fire testing or evidence

CPS/police would not answer question on extradition conversations with other territories, although likely to be a hurdle they have to cross - some suspects are based overseas, some have moved

Offences being investigated include manslaughter, fraud, misconduct in public office, various health and safety offences.

CPS initially said it would be hard to see trials starting before 2029, but rowed back on that a bit. Conversations already underway...

Grenfell criminal investigation update today:

- Police on track to deliver charging files to CPS by Sept

- CPS hopes to make decisions before 10th anniversary in June 2027. Arrests will follow that if they approve charges

- 57 individuals and 20 orgs under suspiscion

Today we met with @SamanthaDixonMP ahead of tomorrow’s King’s Speech.

The Remediation Bill is simply too little, too late. It won't make homes safe, protect leaseholders or speed up remediation any time soon.

Labour is still failing to get a grip on the building safety crisis.
