@PolitlcsUK She could just stare at a wall.
Or she could read a book, watch TV/streaming, go for a walk, draw pictures, do a painting, learn to play an instrument, bake a cake, go swimming, or hang out with friends without them all staring at their phones. Take the freedom and run with it.
@def_leppar20044 Sum up the 70s in one song? I think 'School's Out' by Alice Cooper.
It rocks, it's snotty, clever-dumb, it influenced punk, and it was produced by Bob Ezrin who also did Lou Reed's 'Berlin' and 'The Wall', two slabs of depressed 1970s indulgence. Everything gnarly flows from it.
@thequentinletts I really love his early stuff, Bradford to London to Los Angeles. He developed a great range.
And everything he did after that was enjoyable to look at which, for a painter/photographer, means that probably yes the plaudits were merited. (Even the iPad stuff, which was cheating).
@johnvvariety Best track 1 side 1 ever.
I first heard this round at a mate's house when it came out, aged 17. This was adult stuff!
I've loved Imperial Bedroom from that day, and I've spent the past 44 years learning to appreciate it even more, every time.
@SalvadorDafti One of my all-time favourite LPs, so many killer tracks. Street 66! Obsessed with that one.
I did a picture of LKJ - LKJ and Di Great Insohreckshan (even though, as it goes, he wasn't there that day in April 1981)
@LUFC Every team gets a beating every now and then, and a desperate West Ham were always going to be the most challenging final day opponents.
Great season. Love the players, the team spirit, the captain, and the manager. Thankyou.
@hermionegingol1 I posted a Morrissey clip on X an hour ago, for Bonfire of Teenagers, seeing as how it's the anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing. I had no idea it was also his birthday. The song cuts just a little bit harder now, knowing that.
His greatest song. Well, one of many.
@CumbriaShaun Restore.
I had to listen to LBC all day every day last week. So many callers say no politicians are brave enough to tell us what's wrong and how to right it; they say anything to get votes, are dishonest, and can't be trusted.
I think Rupert Lowe will cut through, once heard.
@Will_Fuzz I've got to do a 'big tidy' later on because someone is coming to stay for the weekend, and playing Station To Station during the 'big tidy' makes life really good and time passes too fast because it's a record I don't ever want to end.
@murphdogg29 Funny to read this.
For the last week I've been watching black American people on YouTube - 'Queen Bohemian Rhapsody Reaction' - and each and every one, hearing the song for the first time, has been absolutely knocked out by it.
All music has the potential to explode minds.
@TheMickyDolenz1 Don't Call On Me not there, but it's a bit niche. Love that song. One of Mike's best.
My other fave in there though. What I love about the 7" of A Little Bit Me... is that huge acoustic guitar intro - it sounds like The Who! Totally flattened out & neutered by the CD version.
@BarbieNgwana@qatarairways Exactly! Airport staff said I could just cancel my flight, but the website only offered me $735 refund for a ticket that cost $1104.
I need that money to pay for another flight that avoids the Gulf.
And those airlines are price-gouging like hell. 2 to 3 times normal cost 🤮

I found this Chuck Willis LP at a garage sale years ago and was struck by how much he reminded me of you, in particular the early Housemartins style, that kind of skipping joyousness. Are you a fan? Was he an influence? (I've always wanted to ask)
@pdb1980 We have a calm, solid manager, a brilliant captain, a strong bench, a rejuvenated goal-scorer, and an indomitable team spirit with no showboating egos. Arsenal aside we have shown that we don't need to fear any other team.
Might even have a chance at the FA Cup too.
