A three-hour inspection across several parts of South Mumbai was conducted by municipal commissioner Ashwini Bhide to review the ongoing implementation of the civic body’s ‘Pedestrian First’ campaign, aimed at making footpaths obstruction-free, accessible and safer for pedestrians.
The civic chief inspected footpaths and ongoing improvement works across several locations in D ward, including Nana Chowk, Grant Road railway station, Naushir Bharucha Cross Lane, Shankarsheth Marg (Bhaji Galli) and Tardeo Road; E ward, including Dr Anand Rao Nair Road, the BYL Nair Hospital area, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, Nath Pai Marg and Sant Savata Marg; B ward, including Lokmanya Tilak Marg, Sindur Bridge, Old Bengalipura Lane, Raghunath Maharaj Street and Qazi Syed Street; and C ward, including Jagannath Shankarsheth Marg, Dhobitalao Lane, Maharshi Karve Road, Marine Lines and Chandanwadi.
