sexism, racism, transphobia etc exists across the entire political spectrum. we cannot and should not ignore the different lived experiences of members of the working class. leftists who ignore these interlocking forms of oppression because they take “no war but class war” to mean the exclusion of an intersectional approach to class politics are not building a united front. they’re leaving people behind and exposing the holes in this so called broad coalition building
Nobody wants data centers everywhere. Nobody wants flying cars. Nobody wants a city on Mars. Nobody wants AI in every app. Nobody wants a robot butler. All we want is clean water, we want bees to survive, and we want a habitable planet.
“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
― William W. Purkey
I think it's very important that we remember that it wasn’t the CEOs and billionaires who saved us during COVID-19. It was the janitors, nurses, cleaning crews, grocery and food workers with their hard, often invisible labor.
The most frustrating thing about being human right now is knowing we already have the intelligence and resources to end world hunger, fight climate change, and cure cancer yet greed and billionaires allow millions to suffer instead. The wasted human potential is heartbreaking.
Actually, one of the healthiest things a person can do is become easy to delight. Still stopping for weird clouds and dogs wearing bandanas and the smell of garlic cooking somewhere down the street.
The world already has enough cynicism. Be the person who still points at the moon.
