The policy choice by the rand issuing state to leave 42% of working age adults unemployed, can only be explained within the paradigm in which @Treasury_RSA & @SAReserveBank believe that our people have no value.
No-where else in the world would these extreme levels of unemployment and poverty be condoned as “natural” or “acceptable”.
I firmly believe this attitude is based in racism.
The idea that our people are not worth educating, training or employing, and the pretence that the rand issuing state has no rand available for that.

At what point do we jail the “economists” who pretend SA has no rand to invest? They are costing SA dearly.

It would have cost the rand issuing state a few billion rand to keep SAs refineries functional, and the rand would have stayed in SA, driving up savings, incomes, sales, profit & GDP.

Instead importing fuel ended up costing the country 10s of billions in forex which it can’t issue. The money left SA, weakening the rand, which led to higher interest rates at massive extra cost to SAns, and increased SAn net debt by the amount paid.
