18 juillet 1968, enregistrement d'un titre jalon dans l'histoire du rock. Il faut bien définir une date pour une naissance. Et cette date peut être considérée comme la naissance du heavy metal. D'autres avaient déclaré avoir créé le titre le plus sauvage du rock. McCartney avait été déçu à leur écoute. Alors il a fait lui-même le titre le plus bruyant du rock.
Aujourd'hui, si les Motörhead, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Black Sabbath et autres Guns N' Roses ont une profonde reconnaissance pour les Beatles en général et pour McCartney en particulier, c'est évidemment pour le pas de géant qu'ils ont fait faire au rock mais aussi pour ce titre qui constitue un point de départ si important de leur passion.
