@mattwensing@kaseyklimes Lmao having a product prioritize objective and efficient routing is the “political” decision now.
Next you’ll be telling us meritocracy is too woke.
@mtaibbi lol, Hillary disclosed the payment to the FEC - the fine was over how it was described.
Trump didn’t disclose the payments, falsified the records, then (legally) lied about the payments to the press.
Maybe he shouldn’t be in jail, but the situations are not at all the same.
@mtaibbi Spoiler: he didn’t disclose them, which is the crime that was abetted through the falsified records… which is the entire case.
Maybe he doesn’t deserve jail time for this, but it’s a joke to say these situations are identical.
@mtaibbi Hillary disclosed the payments to the FEC, the fundamental issue was with how they were described when they were reported.
Did Trump disclose the Cohen payments to the FEC since they were made for the benefit of his Presidential campaign?
I think if Trump wanted to say he didn’t commit a crime he had 6 weeks at trial to make that case to a jury of 12 people; he clearly wasn’t able to convince them.
The notion that people who don’t already support him will think he’s being persecuted is laughable.
No, I’m saying the “crime” was a manufactured offense that clearly would never have been filed against another person, and people will see it that way. Even people who dislike Trump will think this. Again, feel free to disagree.
@IamTheFawb@ksusys@mattyglesias I literally cannot break it down further. I assume you are trolling.
They were sitting in a place they weren’t allowed to be, thus meaning the civil disobedience was violating the unjust policy.
Occupying a building has nothing to do with Palestinian rights, it’s just lawless.
@IamTheFawb@ksusys@mattyglesias You’ve missed the entire point of his original tweet. Civil disobedience works when it demonstrates the absurdity of the policy being protested. Not when it’s just random lawlessness.
@IamTheFawb@ksusys@mattyglesias If you want to give suburbanites a reason to think Trump might be a better option than Biden, then campus protests are a good way to get there.
If you’re trying to educate the majority of Americans support Israel to change their mind - you have to actually convince them.
@IamTheFawb@ksusys@mattyglesias There’s a difference between protesting and engaging in civil disobedience.
Hold a march, hold a rally, hold a vigil sure.
How does forcibly occupying a building make people more sympathetic to the Palestinian cause? Much less help the protestors actual demands for BDS.
@IamTheFawb@ksusys@mattyglesias The right wing accounts signal boosting protest videos and amplifying campus chaos aren’t doing it because they think it will change policy.
Protestors should consider why major Trump supporters are happy to see these protests break out.
These campus protests aren’t helping the left. In fact, they are breaking several of Alinsky’s rules .
For example, Rule number 13 is “pick a target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it.”
Their protest is too abstract. If it was against BIDEN then it would have more spice, it would be more effective.
“15% of your endowment needs to be in clean energy.”
OK. Go back to class, weirdo.
Alinsky’s rule number 7 : "A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag."
Nearly the whole country is now annoyed with these people. These protests don’t come off as noble, just irritating, except to the most die-hard Israel haters.
Alinsky's rule number 6: "A good tactic is one your people enjoy."
No one is having fun sleeping in tents. They are mad. They look angry. Terrible optics.
This is the JV team. Not sanctioned by the oligarchs. This is a runaway train and the sophisticated strategists on the left know it's a giant loser.
@IamTheFawb@ksusys@mattyglesias Civil disobedience at lunch counters demonstrated the absurdity of the policy people were protesting, leading to change.
Taking over buildings demanding BDS doesn’t educate anyone and likely undermines the actual policy message.
It’s an ineffective tactic to change this policy.
@theyoungcrews@indexcoop@bankless New legalese that suggests a massive change in how residents of the United States should view your product.
Off to a DEX to trade my tokens which @indexcoop explicitly says I’m not allowed to buy any more of or transfer to anyone else in the entire country.
Did @indexcoop put out an alert that they restrict trading for US persons on most of their tokens now or did they just slips that on the website unnoticed? @bankless $DPI

@ElonBachman The idea is that America is awash in guns and we’re the only developed country where people shoot up elementary schools. We’ve tried “more guns everywhere” for decades and it hasn’t worked. Maybe we try what works in every other developed country.
