Typically in the US, if you're more “liberal” then you're more left. But that's not how socialists use the word.

Liberals tend to only want to tweak capitalism. As if it's just misbehaving.

Socialists see capitalism as operating as designed and in need of replacement.

(2) As a guy who frequently says things that make people say, 'hey not all men...' I hypothesize that we have a miscommunication between men who very desperately want to distance themselves from that behavior, and everyone else frustrated that theyre still not getting the point.
