Padres e hijos representando a su país en el torneo más importante que existe. El círculo se completó, señoras y señores.
FÚTBOL EN LA SANGRE.
Matt Bishop on Fernando Alonso: ✍️
💪 “A grizzled but still brilliant veteran marooned in machinery that struggles even to justify its presence on the F1 grid.”
🥊 “Within the F1 paddock there remains a near-universal consensus that, given a genuinely competitive car, he could still win races as easily as do the likes of George Russell, Lando Norris, and even Max Verstappen.”

“Number 4 isn’t his position, he’s best suited to open”. This has to be the most useless gimmick to cover his failures.
Babar Azam played 21 innings as an opener in tournaments (AC + WC) and has scored 552 runs in those matches averaging 27.6 while striking at 112.
He has the lowest strike rate in the Power Play at T20 WC history. He faced 210 ball in PPs and managed to score only 186 runs at a strike rate of just 86.6.
He never hit a six in Power Plays after playing more than 200 balls.
Babar Azam has played 23 Innings in T20I tournaments:
150+ SR: 0 Times
130+ SR: Only 4 Times
He has a strike rate of 106 against SENA nations in T20 WCs. His overall strike rate comes down to 104 if we minus Scotland & Namibia.
Babar Azam has played 14 teams in T20 WCs and has managed a strike of 140 against one. Strike rate under 100 against 5 and Strike rate under 120 against 12 teams.
Babar Azam has never won a Player of the match award in the WCs while all of his long time team mates like Shaheen, Rizwan, Shadab, Rauf have won it.
Since 2025, he’s averaging 34 striking at 116 and came back in team without any improvement or performance.
After all this, if he’s still anyway near the team, it’s a privilege for him. No one, I repeat not a single serious team will select a player in 4th consecutive WC with these performances. There should be no excuse for him. Team don’t have to be flexible to accommodate him, he should be flexible in order to make his space.
All the Sohaib Maqsoods, Salman Butts and whoever tf thinks this guy is an opener should be ashamed of themselves.
Babar Azam hasn't hit a six against Full Member teams in T20 World Cups since that game vs India in Dubai in 2021. And from the same game onward, Shaheen Afridi has managed just three wickets against India, averaging 59.00 with an economy rate of 9. Blimey!
Pakistan’s ill-advised move might backfire, but it’s a nice reminder that they have a half-share in cricket’s biggest payday.

Why is it difficult to accept that Pakistan's behaviour right now can only be understood in the context of India's? Sure, they're going rogue, but these things don't happen in a vacuum.
They’ll never admit it, but Pakistan is box office. Star talent, hundreds of millions of eyeballs, ratings, sponsors, money. The rivalry prints cash.
Hate the country, milk the rivalry. That’s been the model for the BCCI and the BJP.
So when Pakistan finally takes a clear stance, the Indian media meltdown is honestly hilarious. If they hate Pakistan so much, shouldn’t they be celebrating? Two points. A rest day. No “pressure match.” That’s exactly what they’ve argued for years.
Instead, it’s wall-to-wall outrage.
Because this was never about principle. It’s about control. India is comfortable refusing Pakistan. It struggles when Pakistan refuses India.
That’s why this moment matters. It’s one of the rare times Pakistan isn’t quietly absorbing disrespect for the sake of optics or revenue. A lot of people are hoping this decision holds and isn’t walked back under pressure, because reversals are what everyone has come to expect.
Slot needs to learn from Amorim. You can't just lose 6 games in a row.
You lose 4, win one or two and then lose again. Space out the Ls with Ws well enough and they can't sack you.
