there are a lot of liberals and progressives who confuse winning elections with actual material wins for the working class.
so far we’ve had a lot of “well meaning” people enter office with nothing to show for it.
the NPC has already committed to fixing the MIGS error
NYC DSA leadership has committed to continuing to boycott national DSA endorsements for all of its congressional candidates because they put their personal grievances over the good of our party
"It is insufficient for socialist legislators to rhetorically criticize excessive military spending. They should be bound by our program to force a genuine public confrontation over the matter by refusing to vote for military, police, national security and intelligence budgets."
The whitewashing & betrayal of abolition is devastating to our movement. It's opportunism that serves only to coopt, confuse, & demoralize us. We must build a party where anyone who claims to represent us is accountable to our program, including fighting the racist police state.
Something which ought to color the discourse about national dsa vs AOC is that the conditions the NPC wanted met would in fact have made her a stronger candidate for 2028 and were not only morally, but also strategically correct.
I know NYC DSA leadership isn't going to do or say anything because they want staff jobs and don't wanna build socialism, but at least try to get him to give off the facade he's interested.
@DCCyclone@ChikaAnyadike@mkraju Lol no it's not. He's still gonna be tied to DSA anyway and now we're not gonna canvass for him. He's getting the worst of both worlds.
