@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz Clearly we can't agree here. When you think property is worth as much or more than human lives, there's nothing more to discuss.
@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz Let's see...one group promotes white supremacy and civil war, the other promotes social justice and racial equality. One group brings guns to intimidate marginalized communities, the other group brings guns to protect them. One has a history of violence, one does not.
@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz Most major, non-political sources define it generally the same way, Wikipedia included. And I'm not some lazy, narrow minded hack that just quotes article headlines and misuses buzz words.
@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz It's not ok either, but assault or murder is way worse than burning a car or smashing windows. I hate it when protests turn violent because it undermines the message. But only reason a building isn't coming back is a choice...if you're dead you don't get a choice.
@Pettus1Leigh@SSharkymcshark@JoJoFromJerz I agree, but don't concede that they're in equal measure. When one side shows up w/ rainbow flags and the other side shows up w/ swastika flags and AR-15s, it's hard to believe they're both equally violent. Organized right wing extremism is a serious threat, w/ no left equivalent
@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz I go by Wikipedia definition of fascism. But broadly the right seems to be a mix of fascists, christian nationalists, white supremacists, and kleptocrats. Not all of course, but many. Democracy doesn't typically resort to violence, but those others do to achieve their goals.
@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz Again, not saying that's not a form of violence, too. And not right to loot/riot. But you can rebuild, repaint, install new windows...you can't bring a person back from the dead. With insurance one is an inconvenience and the other is permanent.
@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz Fair enough. And not trying to defend the shooter at all. But they were a former student there as well. And just because they may have been politically left, doesn't mean that's what motivated the attack. Whereas the Pelosi attacker was definitely political violence.

Fireworks also make loud bangs. I read no damage or injuries in that incident. Don't have to look far to find Nazis...drag brunches, LGBTQ events, etc. Nazis/fascists/militia groups, all same to me. Power grid attacks, mall shooting, and on and on.
@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz I don't remember that school shooting being politically motivated, Rittenhouse was not trying to put out a dumpster fire (easily debunked), a loud bang happened outside the Knowles event - no one threw a bomb at him, and antifa wouldn't have to exist if there weren't Nazis here.
@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz I don't condone violence, but you're talking about property damage. Which is still not good. But you're not arguing in good faith if you think physical violence is the same as property damage. Protests getting out of hand is not the same thing as slamming your car into a crowd.
@SSharkymcshark@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz Nope, and I didn't say anything like that. But odds are that those people would still be alive if he hadn't gone out of his way to bring a gun to that protest. Also, it seems like vast majority of deadly violence in these cases are from right wing people. Pretty consistent thread
@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz With Neely, since when is aggressive speech accompanied by no actual physical action harming anyone result in a death sentence? There are consequences for actions, and I think the 2nd degree manslaughter charge is appropriate.
@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz She had a folding knife on her. One of the men at the door with her said the cop had his gun out. But she still attempted to get through. During an insurrection where 100+ cops were assaulted and there was a gallows outside, and threats were made. Justified use of force imo.
@Pettus1Leigh@JoJoFromJerz "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're sending people that have a lot of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

@DJcalligraphy@EdKrassen Yes, dangerous. President lying + media lying = insurrection. If you're being told your vote didn't count and the gov't cheated you, and you've been whipped into a frenzy by false information, that's dangerous.
And your clown emoji is not an argument. It's a capitulation.
@DJcalligraphy@EdKrassen Fox is a blatant republican propaganda network. They lied continually, knew they were lying, and still spread dangerous lies. Dominion has lost reputation and revenue due to these lies. We have to hold Fox responsible. This is the whole point of defamation laws.
