@slimengrimen "just focus on what you have control over"
Ok so you mean nothing?
You will own nothing and be happy.
You will work a job that doesn't pay a livable wage and be happy.
You will watch society slowly cannibalize and sabotage itself under Christian white nationalists and be happy.
The last time Sombra got reworked, we all joked that her new role was to just stand behind the tank and hack anyone that got too close to them.
Blizzard took that joke a little bit too seriously. Like legitimately where in a fight is she supposed to be now?
If Sombra can’t Hack then:
Cass shouldn’t have Hinder
Hog shouldn’t have Hook
Brig/Rein shouldn’t have Shield Bash
Junkrat shouldn’t have Trap
Orisa shouldn’t have Javelin
I can go on!
Sombra’s CC isn’t as bad as any of these. 2 sec ability lock is nothing compared to these.
@Greenpig117 Hotfix + Hack that share a cooldown.
Increase duration of Cyberspace by a couple seconds, maybe pause or increase the duration while an ally or enemy is standing in it.
Decouple stealth from Translocator.
Boom. It works.
@BladeslashOW I'm perfectly fine with that, I like unconventional skill expression that isn't just healbot, but if we're doing that, and hear me out...
Symmetra should also be moved back to support and regain some of her old barrier stuff.
@Greenpig117 Frankly if their goal is to neuter her lethality in favor of support, they need to give us back perma-stealth that reactivates after several seconds of not taking damage. And I am being absolutely serious.
@mizliz_ I do understand there are probably talks about mechanical bloat in the game, which can lead to confusion for players.
But I also really like when heroes break conventional gameplay loops and do something that changes the way you engage in fights.
Curious for a dev's thoughts!
@mizliz_ This could be Symmetra sentries, Torbjorn turret, Illari pylon, etc.
Are these something you guys try to avoid?
Or is it simply a vibe thing?
I think deployables are interesting because they create unique gameplay and counterplay. Continued-/
Genji & Hanzo summoning dragons. Kiriko weaponizing a literal kitsune spirit. Zenyatta and the Iris.
This has never been true, and even if it was, who cares?
Marvel has both magic and science and Marvel Rivals thrived. Blizzard is trying to emulate that with Overwatch.
@harpystrings Same but they fumbled the rework HARD imo.
I don't think her healing is going to keep up with the rest of the support roster, yet the removal of hack against enemies means her utility is worse for the wear too.
This is the worst received rework I’ve ever seen…
People who love Sombra are mad, people who hate Sombra are confused. This is worst case scenario for their rework goals here.
@jamisonfawcks Something something not throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
Obviously they went a completely different direction with the character. So much so that none of it resembles the concept except a vague mention of drones.
This isn't merely a redesign. It's not the same character.
@BigMastah79@CyanWolfArt Depends on CD honestly. But stealthing after translocating is absolutely useless when you aren't a flanker anymore. At best its a good engage/disengage tool.
Decouple stealth from Translocator. Lower Translocator's cooldown. Make it a reactivated ability again. Then we talk.
