If your PhD applications are still getting rejected, do this now.

Your application is not being rejected because it is weak.
It is being rejected because it is unclear.

Here is what to do instead.

Take a blank page and write three short paragraphs in plain language.

In the first paragraph, explain the exact problem you want to study next.
Not your degree. Not your past work. The question you want to work on.

In the second paragraph, explain how your background has prepared you for this problem.
Do not list achievements. Show the connection between what you have done and what you want to do.

In the third paragraph, explain why this department is the right place for that work.
Name the area of research. Name the approach. Show that you belong there.

If you cannot write these three paragraphs clearly, your application cannot be clear either.

This exercise will show you what no amount of editing ever will.
Where your story breaks. Where your logic is missing. Where you are still guessing.

Only after this should you touch your SOP, your emails, or your proposal.

Rejections are painful, but they are not the end.
They are telling you that your direction is not being understood.

Fix the direction first. Everything else becomes easier after that.
