A girl's case, settled for a goat. Not a metaphor, an actual account, from an actual letter, written by a girl in Kenya describing how 'justice' worked for her.
No court nearby. No lawyer she could afford. And when a case did get heard, the person found guilty simply bribed their way past it.
This isn't one bad outcome. It's the predictable result of a system where courts, police, and legal aid were never distributed with girls like her in mind. Distance and cost aren't side effects here; they're the actual mechanism keeping her out.
Read her letter and tag someone who has the power to put a functioning court, a real police presence, or an actual legal aid budget within her reach. Silence on this is a choice too.
