@MerrynSW how easy was it for you to get information about candidates? All we found on campaign materials were names and parties. Nothing about the capability of individuals themselves 😔 Pure party politics. Worse than for a general election.
@CamdenVoyager@Helen_Fields Sensible! I swept garage floors after graduation while applying. Took any job in a law firm: reception; legal assistant; paralegal. In both small high street and big city firms. Went to every legal seminar I could. You make your own luck and it sounds like she deserves success🤞
@dogreadsnews@kaya85kaya@Frencheconomics Thank you for your thoughts. Genuinely appreciated :)
Last prompt (should you kindly indulge me further), why is Berkshire Hathaway not falling over itself to allocate its cash holdings as you have suggested may be most prudent?
@dogreadsnews@kaya85kaya@Frencheconomics Help me out here. “Tech” is a sector. Are you saying any asset class (equities, fixed income, etc) associated with that sector?
On a more interesting note (to me anyway) 50, 70, 100 years really is not long enough. Merely 2 generations…
@dogreadsnews@kaya85kaya@Frencheconomics Until it doesn’t 👀 Commentators ignoring sequencing risk affecting total real returns over 10+ year periods are disingenuous: 1929, 1969, 2000, 2008
@JamesRaxz@shivmalik@chris_komatsu Only anecdotal but those sentiments reflect many in the circles in UK and France from my experience…
…specifically, that confidence the US can make it right and not allow it to go so wrong again is gone for a generation.
@RebelliousBard@peterkyle Modern society in the UK is not conducive to parenthood: expecting mothers to be everything; and expecting fathers to be everything too. But here we are. If mother is in hospital then the least I can do to keep things normal is put my daughter’s hair up in a ponytail for school.
