It is important to resist the commodification of basic human needs. Food, water and healthcare cannot be subordinated to market considerations or geopolitical interests. Access to adequate food is a fundamental human right grounded in the dignity of every person. Meeting this need not only alleviates suffering but also addresses underlying causes of geopolitical instability. Indeed, food security is an essential component of global and integral security. https://t.co/DgkM9RegJ7
It seems @realDonaldTrump is now officially ready to receive the @NobelPrize after the End of 12 Day War! No doubt, the @realDonaldTrump is stalwart of global peace & security. The world at large & so-called liberals must recognize his commendable services for the humanity.
The Declaration of Ghadir marks a momentous day in Islamic history — the day when the Holy Prophet ﷺ proclaimed Sayyiduna Ali (عليه السلام) as the "Mawla" (guardian and leader) of the entire Muslim Ummah. On this occasion, the love for Imam Ali (عليه السلام) and devotion to the noble Ahl al-Bayt were declared as essential elements of true faith. #Ghadir is not merely a historical event; it is a profound declaration of deep-rooted love for the #AhlulBayt and a cornerstone for understanding the essence of religion.
What an Orwellian world we live in. Israel launches a clearly illegal and unprovoked attack on Iran, in violation of the U.N. charter, and with no imminent Iran attack in sight, or any Iranian nukes developed, and its western allies come out to say they reaffirm *Israel’s* right to defend itself, not Iran’s. The aggressor’s, not the victim of the illegal attack.
This, I guess, is the west’s ’rules-based international order.’
The actual root cause of persistent economic challenges is not overpopulation but rent-seeking elite & paucity of rule of law. The situation might be different, if institutions are allowed to work for the benefit of the public. E.g. China & India have more population than Pak.
Why isn’t Pakistan taking serious steps toward population control? It’s well established that rapid population growth is a major root cause of our economic challenges. Yet there’s no action or even awareness campaigns from the government anymore.
I've recently written an opinion piece for The Friday Times.
It sheds light on the non-appointments of judges in the highest court of Gilgit-Baltistan.
It discusses the significance of such appointments and provides suggestions to address this crisis.

“He was perhaps the most admired Muslim in the world. That was a miracle twice over: being respected by both the non-Muslim and Muslim worlds.”
I covered the Aga Khan for more than 30 years. Here’s what made him so remarkable via @torontostar

Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan V was today named the 50th hereditary Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, following the unsealing of the Will of his late father, Prince Karim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan IV, who died in Lisbon, Portugal yesterday, aged 88.
Prince Rahim Aga Khan V is a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) through his daughter, Hazrat Bibi Fatima, and the Prophet’s cousin and son-in-law, Hazrat Ali, the fourth Rightly Guided Caliph of Islam and the first Shia Imam.
Throughout their 1,400 year history, the Ismailis have been led by a living, hereditary Imam. The Ismailis live in over 35 countries and number approximately 12 to 15 million.
Our beloved Imam passed away this morning. The Ismaili Imamat shall continue as it has for over 1400 years. The Imam’s successor is named in his Last Will which will be read out soon .
Fact sheet on the #AgaKhan and the #Ismailis: @BBCWorld@CBCNews@CTVNews@NBCNews@nytimes@mehdirhasan@omarsachedina
1. Ismailis are Shi’i Muslims and after the Twelvers, Ismailis are the largest Shia community.
2. The Imam in Shi’i Ismaili belief is the spiritual guide and authoritative interpreter of Islam. Ismailis believe that the Imam’s guidance contains the correct interpretation of Islamic belief and practice at any given time.
3. The office of Imamat is believed to divinely elected and this divine election is expressed by the Imam’s appointment of his successor from his male progeny. This appointment is called “Nass”.
4. The late Aga Khan was the 49th hereditary Imam in an unbroken hereditary lineage going back to Ali ibn Abu Talib, the first Imam. The “Aga khan” title was given to the family 4 generations ago and is a secular title.
5. Historically, each Imam has announced his successor via Nass either verbally and/or more recently in written Wills. The late 49th Imam’s Will is going to read soon in which he has already designated the 50th Imam.
6. Ismaili is pronounced “ismiley” and Muslim is pronounced as “muslim” not “muzlim”.
7. Ismailia congregate for prayers in private spaces called Jamatkhanas not masjids/mosques.
8. Ismailis have a very strong spiritual and emotional attachment to our Imam. We see him as our spiritual father, our guiding light in times of darkness, the conduit for God’s blessings, and our spiritual beloved.
9. The late 49th Imam himself succeeded to the Imamat after his grandfather in 1957 when he was just 20 and was our Imam for almost 68 years.
All genuine political workers, regardless of party to which they belong, have a right of peaceful protests & demonstrations. If in exercise of this right they also suffer, they deserve admiration and not ridicule. Real pol workers are assets of democracy against dictatorships.
@Noorzraja@MohsinnaqviC42 Do you really think anyone cares about that in our Country? They blatantly breach Fundamental Rights as enshrined in the Constitution. Yet we naively think that somehow they will honor their commitments under International Covenants and abide by the directions of HRC.
