@oeqalagos 3. PRAYERS:
We, the concerned parents and stakeholders of Okun Ajah Community Senior Secondary School, hereby humbly pray that your good office:
1.Cause an immediate and thorough investigation into this allegation
@oeqalagos It has placed untold financial hardship on parents in the Okun Ajah, Ogombo, Sangotedo and entire Eti-Osa community, many of whom are low-income earners, and it portrays the government of Mr. Governor as exploitative, contrary to his THEMES+ agenda for education.
@oeqalagos iii. The Code of Conduct for Public School Administrators in Lagos State;
iv. Your office's mandate to ensure compliance, quality assurance and zero tolerance for corrupt practices in schools.
@oeqalagos 2. VIOLATION:
This act is in direct violation of:
i. The Lagos State Government Policy on Free and Compulsory Basic and Secondary Education;
ii. The circular of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education on approved fees and levies for public schools;
@oeqalagos These collections are being done without issuance of official Lagos State Government receipts in many cases, and parents are being compelled to pay as a condition for admission and for entry into final examinations.
@oeqalagos b) Illegal Collection for WAEC CASS Registration:
The Continuous Assessment Scores (CASS) upload/registration for WASSCE is a free exercise under the Lagos State free education policy and is not to attract any fee from students.
@oeqalagos Contrary to this directive, the principal of the school is collecting N22,000 (Twenty-two Thousand Naira) per student from all prospective SS1 students. This represents an illegal excess of N13,500 per student.
@oeqalagos 1. FACTS OF THE CASE:
a) Inflated SS1 Admission/Registration Fee:
The official amount approved and stipulated by the Lagos State Government for SS1 admission and registration is N8,500 (Eight Thousand Five Hundred Naira Only).
@oeqalagos We write with utmost respect and a deep sense of civic responsibility to bring to your attention and to formally petition your office against the illegal collection of fees by the Principal of Okun Ajah Community Senior Secondary School, Okun-Ajah, Eti-Osa.
