Day 5 of working to become more aware of my finances, reduce unnecessary spending, and build my #networth. Move-in cleaning was way more expensive than monthly cleaning, but it needed to be done. I feel like cleaning is that one luxury expense I just can't cut... what's yours?
Omg the advice I give anyone who is feeling workplace anxiety is: "What are they gonna do? Take you out back and shoot you?"
Truly unless you're like a pediatric surgeon-- nothing in the workplace is THAT serious.
I’m 20,000 words into the third draft of my first novel! If I had infinite money, this is how I would spend my time.
What would you do with your time if you had infinite money?
@NetWorthington Can you pay for things privately? Or only just some things? I am considering going to the UK to get a procedure done that costs $3k over there to skip the wait and get it done privately whereas here, it’s like $20k 😂
Dental update: I need two fillings ($660 total) and need my top two wisdom teeth removed sometime in the next year. Really expensive and sucks, but I guess it could’ve been worse!
You really gotta go to the source: estate sales, garage sales, goodwill, etc. Any business that filters quality for you is always gonna 10x the price 😩
@NetWorthington I like to compare it checking a bug you squished under a book. Nobody wants to lift the book and see if it’s really dead but at some point you have to 😂
I have a dentist appointment this morning because of tooth pain and I’m worried it’s going to lead to some $12k procedure I need done 🫠
This is one of the reasons so many Americans struggle to get on their feet financially. It’s not from “fun” debt, the dentist certainly isn’t fun.
Day 4 of working to become more aware of my finances, reduce unnecessary spending, and build my #networth, despite being so behind on life. This month I’ll be cancelling a LOT of subscriptions.
My car window stopped working, then when I tried opening the panel to replace it so I don’t have to spent $1200 at the dealership, my handle broke… when it comes to money, it’s always SOMETHING. I’m still determined to fix this for cheaper!

One of the best things I’ve learned so far in my journey to financial health is how to repair stuff. I’ve developed so many random repair skills. My dog tore up the door frame at my temporary apartment in a fit of anxiety and instead of losing a $1000 deposit, I spent a total of $20 on wood filler, white paint, a putty knife, and a sander. It looked brand new. In the past I would’ve just felt hopeless and ate the $1000 loss.
