It's shocking to me as a Brit that Americans aren't taught that they only entered the war against the Nazis AFTER Nazi Germany sided with Japan after pearl harbour and declared war against the USA. At no point did the USA decide to 'save democracy from Nazism'.
@Sh0egAz3R1@grazer1973@insdexd@vaughneyo It worked for me but only after I deleted the ticket master app and went back into the email and let it open in a browser
We have an important and difficult announcement to make.
With all the extensive fires in the Los Angeles area, we’ve been finding it really difficult to close agreements with our headline guests for the upcoming London Comic Con Spring. Some of the agents we work with, and the stars themselves, have been affected by the fires. Several guests we were waiting for signed contracts from have held off due to the severity of the disaster in Los Angeles. Some are worried that the fires may still affect them and others have family members that have been directly affected.
With all this going on, it’s been nearly impossible to close the deals we had with some of the celebrities and as we all know #LCCSpring thrives only when we provide a good line-up for you, the fans. With this in mind, we’ve taken the hard decision to not host London Comic Con Spring in March.
We’re now in talks with the guests who didn’t want to commit to Spring to reschedule their appearance to London Film & Comic Con this July. This allows them more time to focus on what they need to do due to the fires. It really saddens us to have to do this, but our guests are the heart of Comic Con and we totally understand the situation many of them are in.
We wish them, and the people of Los Angeles, luck and hope that none of them are affected any further with the situation.
All guests that were due to attend London Comic Con Spring will now be appearing at London Film & Comic Con and current bookings will be valid for the event in July. We will be issuing new e-tickets (entry, photoshoot and diamond pass) as soon as possible. If you cannot attend LFCC, taking place 5-6 July, please email in by 28th February for a refund.
We look forward to seeing you and our celebrity guests at the #LFCC and we wish all of our friends in Los Angeles a safe outcome from this disaster.
I've always had a memory from childhood of watching an episode of The Sooty Show set around a pool and finding Sweep's legs hilarious. Finally found a clip of it!
Being an unpaid carer, is the loss of your freedoms without an endless need to justify to others why you need time for yourself
E.g … doctors, dentists appointment, having your own procedures done, time with friends, time doing a hobby, time to clean - the simplest of things
Last year I was sitting in a local library whilst my son sat a GCSE maths exam.
The librarian, who was in her late 30s or early 40s, asked why I was there.
When I told her, she said ‘I am so glad I wasn’t born nowadays. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today.’
She told me that she had failed her maths GCSE, and that she had retaken it and had failed again.
‘I just can’t do maths’ she said.
However, at the time this wasn’t an insurmountable barrier. She got other qualifications and developed an interest in English literature. She got a place at university to study librarianship, successfully obtained her degree and now works as a librarian. All without GCSE maths.
Had she been a teenager now, that opportunity would most likely not have been open to her.
Requiring everyone to pass GCSE Maths in order to progress limits some young people and causes intense distress. There is no way that everyone will ever pass. The exams are not designed that way.
The only real way to raise standards for all is to create systems which empower young people to succeed in many different ways. Some of which will not involve a pass in GCSE maths.
It can never be the case that everyone passes and those who fail need a future to look forward to as well.
A thread re unpaid carers / employers.
We are employers when hiring paid carers. We have to take out insurance, have contracts with our staff, provide training but we aren’t paid 🧵
Girls with autism often mask their symptoms, making it harder to recognise. They might seem socially adept but struggle internally. Let’s raise awareness and create supportive environments where they can be themselves. #AutismAwareness#GirlsWithAutism

Lots of autistic children vocal stim. Vocal stims, like humming, stimulate the vagus nerve & the parasympathetic nervous system to help bring calm. You should never stop a child stimming in any form, they are self regulating in their own way, which if you ask me is pretty clever
I binged watched the entire new series yesterday, it's fantastic! But thought this the entire time. This actor could absolutely play McGuinness. He's a ringer! #BlueLights
