Destiny 2 was not a failure.
Destiny is—was—by all measures, one of the most resounding successes in its field, and its end is a consequence of its management, not the game itself, nor the team and community that propped it up time and time again, or the vision that fueled it.
Destiny was a pioneer of the live-service formula. It was one of the earliest games of the 2010s to try to deliver constant goods, whether they took the form of missions, new loot rewards, or skins, to a console audience.

@Krzws1@SARNYthegoon what even is your point ? xd
Why the fuck are we comparing riven or ambessa to yone (with bork and crit) when it comes to dps on a target
@StoneColdToast@itsHecticc Your entire point is completely retarded
Obviously the execs should be shot but acting as if some devs, SPECIFICALLY THE SANDBOX TEAM, was good is asinine
@NuCaloric The dopamine I got the day of the showcase of BL was genuinely out of this world
Them announcing BL then TWQ then Lightfall (when Lightfall was planned to be cool and scary and not neon 90s slop)
@NuCaloric I’m surprisingly taking it well even though I lived and breathed this game from July 2019 to August 2024
I guess some things just come to an end and I’m genuinely happy I got to experience this adventure with everyone ! The showcase days were my fav days of the year fs
