So I hear people want a ttrpg that is ACTUALLY open-licence... I got you covered! (free to download and use as you see fit) Shattered Empire is the setting, BASE12 is the system.

@roguecaliber Loved this game! I would always lose during the driving portions by running a red light because we were playing on a black and white monitor 😂
Basic Battlemaps: Isle Of Rock
HD version free on patreon!
A great location for a random encounter on a seafaring campaign. In my home game this was the visible portion of an underwater lair of a nixie that kept giving the party trouble :)

I don't force intervention on my players, but I do add elements to random encounter charts based on their needs. If they are short on potions or hauling too much loot I might add an extra Traveling Merchant slot or two to the roll chart, for example. The dice still decide.
Mechanically, (for example) everyone in the group with a 0 in Diplomacy gets a point in it as the "shared knowledge" of the groups silver-tongued +5 PC, and so on. It joins mechanics, story, and simulation into one milestone. It's great
Get to do one of my favorite GM things this week. When the party hits Level 5 they each get a skill bonus that represents something they've learned from each other, traveling with their current companions, watching them work and fight and converse and overcome obstacles.
The priest teaches the group about religion, the warden teaches the group about nature. Everyone learns the basics of picking locks from the rogue. The bard shows them all how to dance 😂
Can you figure out where the right crops should go in Tiwanaku, a board game from Olivier Grégoire and @SitDownGames that's now playable on @BoardGameArena

but I'm a patient GM. Had something finally show up in-game this past weekend that was set in motion back in like 2013! I'll straight up keep a secret from my players for a decade
Found myself with a free afternoon so I've been working on world lore for my #ttrpg setting. Something rejuvenating about digging into history and culture that is (likely) outside the scope of our current campaign, but still solidifies and enhances the world at large.
It's actually kind of nice because one of my bard players carries the book around with him in-game, so now instead of "what kind of poem do I read" he can just be like "Please refer to page 4 stanza 12 for my Diplomacy check" 😂
Long story, but I have to write 3 love poems for my players to read in session tomorrow, lol
I'm gonna get REAL romance novel with it. Maybe even throw in the word "sheathing" 😂
Seaside Cave: for all you beach-combers, scavengers, coastline explorers, or perhaps just adventurers on holiday, this Basic Battlemap is for you!

Here's a fun, ridiculous, colorful overworld map that I use for my GonzoRPG game with the kiddos. It's basically a cartoony theme-park with a bunch of different biomes for them to explore and do quests in.
