@HoodDekuThe31st Is there a character in MHA that’s small planet level? No? Deku’s the closest they’ve got at Large Country Level when we push it? Then they lose miserably. This has been discussed multiple times already.
If that moment had been something that made All Might’s decide to keep an eye on Izuku; while he went on to actually prove himself as a competent hero rather than just a boy with a heroic heart, then the series would’ve been infinitely better than what it ended up being.
All Might seeing Izuku saving Bakugou as a quirkless person & deciding to give him the power was a lazy cop-out so the story could skip needing an actual good reason to get the story going—which it literally had in Izuku getting rejected & wanting to prove himself anyway; or even just have the scene where All Might offered the quirk instead just be an approval moment that gives Izuku the confidence to go through General Education to get there, while All Might keeps an eye on him as a potential candidate for One for All.
Seriously, go read “The Long Way Around” on https://t.co/w4GwwiFEVH by redgrass-and-silvertrees & you’ll see exactly how much better that kind of concept is than the original story.
@th3l1tleg0hst If he were an actual baby then maybe this would make sense; but not when he’s a teenager who is able to comprehend when it works, and then should be able adjust from that.
@KujotShi@Alanin_8 I wouldn’t have even had him get it in Season 1, it would’ve been endgame stuff—like around the beginning of Season 6.
If I wrote the story, end of Season 1 would’ve been Bakugou getting his comeuppance & a deserved outright defeat from Izuku.
And the same can really be said for the majority of the series; picking the most action packed option instead of the best storyline.
Not that him getting the quirk was useful, since his dumbass had to take a season & a half to think the simple thing of, “I should use less power!”
@Alanin_8 The fact that he got OFA right at the start, instead of building up to it & having him actually having to think his way into the Hero Course—which in turn wasted potential arcs with General Education, Shinso, and Midoriya’s Quirkless status all in one fell swoop.
