@judyshel I am inspired by this approach @judyshel, especially if we can ensure the eventual convertibility of the bond with frequent audits, redemption stress tests, etc.

@elonmusk What checks and balances will there be against the so-called "tyranny of the majority" that direct democracies are susceptible to? Tocqueville and the founding fathers favored a Republic for this reason.
I met Mecha Systems at KubeCon today.
They have a compelling vision for a uniform compute fabric between the cloud and edge, starting with a completely open sourced modular edge device, down to the 3D printed components.
The early 2000s era was much more interesting because of this. The strengths and weaknesses of each position made the game of basketball more akin to a fast-paced war game wherein each position/player had to be used strategically. 7-footers can’t shoot threes = Tanks can’t shoot down planes.
This is my first KubeCon + CloudNativeCon. Infectious energy and a truly passionate community tackling all the platform challenges you can think of.
Highlights from the 1st half…
1. Wiz has the coolest booth, with an Elvis lookalike as greeter.
2. General agreement that platform engineering is still largely undefined and there’s little alignment on category taxonomy.
3. FinOps and cost management was a key capability plugged into many pitches. This is a sign of the times.
4. Sophistication is developing fast with internal developer portals and orchestration capabilities.
5. Lots of gaming pit stops.
6. One booth had a huge lineup…because most people in line thought they were joining a raffle for a Rivian giveaway (because it’s on display?). I asked. Not the case. Check your assumptions!
