"Basically you take cold salt water and layer warm freshwater over it, injecting condensed milk into the tank around where the two meet. It was an incredibly interesting experiment and I just wish we had better equipment and had been able to capture it better. Looked pretty cool"

When I first heard Mr. Self Destruct I was pretty much immediately blown away. The music felt evil, intensely sad and desperate. There was no turning back, only to be swept up in the raging turmoil, repression, and an addiction to hitting rock bottom. TDS is NIN's masterwork imo

While the music itself is dirty, grimy, filthy, abrasive, and intense... For me the greatest impact was in the lyrics. A step by step deconstruction of that aforementioned addiction, thought patterns that only terminate one place.
