Great day visiting @FatimaAcademy, @lavalhighschool & @staaSTALLIONS today on behalf of @RoyalCdnLegion Branch 33 to recognize winners of 2019 Youth #Remembrance Contest! Congratulations to all winners & thank you to the schools for great participation. @LegionNLCA
Today is #NationalForgetMeNotDay. Forget-me-nots have an important connection to NL’s identity and history. Many people wear them on July 1 -NL’s Memorial Day - to remember and honour the sacrifice of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment at the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel in 1916.
My daughter Helena and I will be on CBC radio 640 AM (St. John's) tomorrow morning between 8:15 to 8:45 AM. We are discussing the donation of Cpt. Eric Chafe’s WW1 military metals to the Royal NL Regiment Museum. Tune in if you can.
Welcomed invite 2 participate in Remembrance Sunday at Wesley United Church, St. John’s. Joined others including Singing Legionaries, uniformed officers & Mayor @DannyBreenNL in remembering all who paid the ultimate sacrifice during war & all who continue to serve. #LestWeForget
Today I’m thinking of an interview I did last year with WW 2 gunner Leo Knox, one of the last surviving members of the 166th NFLD Field Regiment. He died in January, just days before his 94th birthday. He attended Remembrance Day ceremonies for 74 years. #LestWeForget@VOCMNEWS
Today we commemorate those who have laid down their lives for our freedom.
Thank you to the men & women of the @CanadianForces and our own Royal Newfoundland Regiment for their continued service and sacrifice.
Freedom is not free.
It comes with a great price.
#LestWeForget.
It’s a beautiful day in @Town_BayRoberts Please take some time to remember those that paid the supreme sacrifice, those that served and those who are still serving. Today’s ceremony begins at 11 AM at the Cenotaph. #LestWeForget

Thank You @PremierofNL for launching this year's Poppy Campaign and the tremendous support the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has given to the Veterans and Legion over the years. LEST WE FORGET
It was an honour to welcome the @LegionNLCA today for the 25th anniversary of the #FlyTheFlag of Remembrance ceremony. We wear a poppy as a tribute to all our veterans, past and present in all conflicts — and to truly reflect on the meaning of service and sacrifice. #lestweforget
