Gavin Newsom just drove out a $100M Netflix show to New Jersey (which was originally slated to shoot in CA) all because he denied the show a film tax credit. This is what's happening to the US, more broadly. Tax credits win productions, productions bring jobs. Anyone who doesn't compete will be left in the dust.

Ironically, the show is called "Trigger Point", which is a wildfire term firefighters use to determine when it's time to bug out...which is exactly what the film industry is doing.

I hate to break to all you...the film industry isn't going away. It's only going away from LA. Look at the box office numbers, lately. Project Hail Mary, Michael, The Odyssey, Obsession...both low budget and tentpoles are routinely grossing $500M to a billion. If we don't get politics out of entertainment, it's just going to go thrive elsewhere, and both Californians and Americans will lose out on the spoils.
