By signing this executive order Governor Cuomo has removed a significant barrier to men and women reentering society. I look forward to seeing more people at the polls this fall than ever before.

[Siela A. Bynoe @LegislatorBynoe]

The Governor recognizes that in order to truly be the most fair and just state, we must provide our nearly 35,000 parolees the right to vote. New York has provided a voice to every resident, regardless of background, race or financial situation. https://t.co/klX5hvtUG5

[Archive: Governor Andrew Cuomo @NYGovCuomo]

Today I’m issuing an executive order giving parolees the right to vote.

It is unconscionable to deny voting rights to New Yorkers who have re-entered society.

[Siela A. Bynoe @LegislatorBynoe]

My thoughts this morning are with the students and their companions who were injured in the tragic accident overnight. Thank you to the first responders for their critical work at the scene. My hope is an investigation will reveal more ways to keep travelers safe on our roadways.
