CPI(M) General Secretary M A Baby and senior leader Brinda Karat visited Jantar Mantar today and extended their solidarity with the ongoing student-youth movement demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and accountability for the NEET Paper Leak and the complete failure of the education system. They were accompanied by SFI Joint Secretary Aishe Ghosh and other student leaders.

Comrade Baby and Comrade Brinda met Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka of the Cockroach Janta Party and environmentalist and educator Sonam Wangchuk, who is on a hunger strike seeking justice for students and calling for the Minister’s resignation. They expressed their whole-hearted support for the movement and assured the students and youth that the CPI(M) will stand with them in their fight for justice.

Delhi: While media attention has been focused on the takeover of the grounds of the elite Gymkhana Club, the notices of eviction to hundreds of working class families living in nearby slums have largely been ignored. Today, Delhi CPI(M) leaders Asha Sharma, Aman Saini, Virender Gaur and others met the residents and extended support to their demand for resettlement in nearby areas. The residents said no other political party had come forward to help them. Further meetings are planned.
