During the past 2 months I had the opportunity to develop the first chapter of my thesis at the WSL, in Switzerland!🇨🇭Special thanks to @Foresterbose for the planification and supervision, to @Lehmann_Lab for the nice feedback and @Boreal_Spanish@CEF_CFR@UQAT for the funding!😁

Hei friends and colleagues, we have a 3 yr postdoc position within our forest ecology research group @UniNMBU in beautiful Norway ❄️🌲
It combines remote sensing with ground monitoring to understand boreal forest growth and stress tolerance.

Pls share!
Using continuous 3-year soil water isotope sampling in different depths & hillslope locations @Waldlabor we reveal the mysteries of streamflow generation. Thanks @EGU_HESS for highlighting this huge (still ongoing) sampling effort!
Great to see and discuss science at the longterm #forest monitoring site in Davos. Looking forward to the upcoming proposal writing period @ICOS_RI @WSL_research @SwissForestLab #isotopes
In this @PNASNews paper, we show how vital nonstomatal control of transpiration is for maintaining high assimilation rates in C4 plants in response to increased VPD. Plants like maize and sorghum enhance their water-use efficiency thanks to this mechanism.

Exciting to visit the unique VPDrought experimental site in Pfynwald (https://t.co/aLDlJplZlx) -- cool platform to disentangle the drought effects from air and soil! Really appreciate the great introduction from PI (Markus) and site technician (Jonas)!
@MatthiaSprenger @ca19120 Would add: #Tree-ring based reconstruction of #Soil#Water#isotopes, high effort (hopefully) high impact.
And yes, the social events have been great so far. I really love the online conference format. Well done @ca19120!
👌Less than 24 hours to go! 👈
But there is still time to register at the WATSON final conference (online and free!)🥳🥳🥳

I'm very happy that this study got published! The adverse impact of VPD on leaf gas exchange seems to have been overestimated because the unsaturation of intercellular air spaces is not considered.
So happy to have this chapter of my thesis published. Together with @Lehmann_Lab@Valenti04846103 @NinaBuchmann1 et al., we explorer the autotrophic and heterotrophic 2H fractionation processes in carbohydrates of plants with C3, C4, and CAM CO2 fixation https://t.co/wImN7bEZln
I'm happy to see this paper out in @JEcology !
Drought effects in Mediterranean forests are not alleviated by diversity-driven water source partitioning. Great work with @GrossiordCha @avilagrosa@LlunaMorcillo@FernandoVallada!

Hot day outside together with @HaoyuDiao to study stable water isotopes in the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum in colaboration with @eli_martinezs 🌡️☀️🍃
Now I am looking very much forward to #ESA24 in Long Beach 🌺☀️🥂
Exploring a new ecohydrological proxy. First oxygen-17 #isotope analysis in #water @ using our @Picarro laser with combustion modul @WSL_research. Looking forward to the first results and findings!
