@Tara_eric @WeatherEric Essentially! It is a model with equations for perturbation temperature, pressure, vertical velocity, and horizontal velocity. I simply added a cold “bubble” and a warm layer at the surface and let it run.
Now that I have some time on my hands, I decided to make a gif of my final project for a numerical methods course! A simulated cold pool dropping into a warm layer with temperature perturbations shaded, perturbation pressure in contours, and vectors for wind.
If anyone is interested in seeing this, more than happy to send out a PDF of the poster!! A really cool case study to motivate my work on persistent west coast ridges that happened before our eyes!
