"There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him..."
The Catholic Church has consistently taught that each human life, from the moment of conception until natural death, is sacred and deserves to be protected. Indeed, the right to life is the very foundation of every other human right. For this reason, only when a society safeguards the sanctity of human life will it flourish and prosper.
@ShaneWenzel It's just too bad ticket prices and concession prices will be beyond what is affordable for most people. Sure, you have to pay for it somehow, but that's going to be tough.

I'm starting to wonder if the Wings might be better off pulling the captaincy from Larkin or trading him. In interviews he often seems in desperation mode - "woe is me/woe are we"...wonder if that translates to the room. Leaders stand tall /1
The present moment is revealing people’s true loyalties. The pope is the spiritual father of all Catholics. In a family, even when you disagree with your father, you rally to his defense when he is attacked by an outsider. And if you don’t, there is something very wrong with you.
God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest. But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.
These are war crimes. Dear U.S. Catholic bishops, politicians, and opinion makers, if you all spoke out loudly en masse, you might just possibly deter the president from committing this evil against the Iranian people and staining the honor of our country. Please do your duty! @USCCB
The funeral of Father Pierre El-Rahi, Maronite parish priest of a Christian village, is celebrated today in #Lebanon, as these villages once again experience the tragedy of war. I am close to all the Lebanese people in this time of grave trial. Fr. Pierre was a true shepherd. As soon as he heard that parishioners had been wounded in a bombing, he rushed to help without hesitation. May the Lord grant that the blood he shed become a seed of peace for beloved Lebanon. #PrayTogether
