@rvgooner@PoorEPLreferees FIFA has made it clear referees should not be cautioning offences they usually would. My opinion is that there were too many cards in the opener and they set out a directive against it. After Tantashev’s performance, they will now u-turn and punish everything. PR nightmare.
@rvgooner@PoorEPLreferees It’s an anomaly how biased the refereeing was and frankly just a referee who wasn’t fit for purpose. I don’t think he even got the French cards wrong, just laughable because no Paraguayan. The build up is inevitable when you allow leniency consistently, players take advantage.
@SayatooSE@rvgooner@PoorEPLreferees if you reward players by not booking them consistently for tackles that would be clear yellows in their domestic leagues, cynical pull backs, slide tackles etc. then they’re likely to try it more. Fifa will now u-turn and direct refs to punish everything after Tantashev’s showing
@SayatooSE@rvgooner@PoorEPLreferees The statement was that it’s Fifa’s directive to let things go and that has been true throughout the cycle, the bar for a card has been far higher and the averages have sunk. Last night was pure incompetency with the bias towards Paraguay but it’s a build up of Fifa’s approach.
@SkyBet Easy PR job for you paying out or voiding Paraguayan card bets then. Tantashev’s performance there is a worldwide scandal and every one knows it. But ultimately the bookies win off that incompetency, so there you have it
@Millar_Colin The byproduct of Fifa’s hellbent approach to leniency this cycle. Fans in fact do not want to see thuggery rewarded with no cards. Clearly the officials have been advised to do so but they appear incompetent. Say what you will about Oliver’s 8 cards, he’d have clamped that down.
@rvgooner@PoorEPLreferees Unsure why you’re getting flamed for this incredibly basic statement that has been proved game after game. Any one thinking otherwise either has an absurd bar for a yellow card or just hasn’t been watching games. The officiating has been so poor throughout, OTT leniency = lazy.
@bry5913 I implore fans like yourself to move on to other clubs and take no part in supporting the side that delivered a title. Go and back a side that finished 17th back to back because it gives you a bit of dopamine seeing a signing announced.
@themagic_tophat I don’t think it’s Arsenal’s fault that Spurs and City are willing to obliterate the market out of desperation but that’s just me. Patience is key in a broken market, especially at the height of a world cup.
@3ahm0 What’s cringe is crashing out over a transfer window at the height of the world cup. Fans crashing out over a 16 year old they’ve never watched. Fans crashing out because Arsenal aren’t paying obscene amounts for players that aren’t worth it. Crash out 31/08 if nothing changes.
@samuel_aspinall@spxrrsh Try not to use real world logic. These deals are completed in 5 minutes on their video games. None of them can comprehend a team targeting a Bruno G or Barcola would take months to hash out for a fair deal for both parties. Spurs/City moved fast because they massively overspent.
@aliladiere Our fanbase is full of bitches. These emotional teenagers did not endure the two decades of pain we did and it shows. They just want the dopamine of a signing rather than caring about the side that won us a league and having patience for reasonable signings.
@Emzyl_ It’s literally the peak of the World Cup. Our fanbase is just full of emotional teenagers who think football is like their Fifa career mode. Perhaps the team that won the league doesn’t need hundreds of millions of investment completed by mid-July?
@DrkNemesis_ Sorry but you sound ridiculous, even more so trying to use an AI bot that does not understand as justification. Belgium as the fave is never going to be 200/1 to win 1-0 in a half hour period. Getting 2 goals in extra time would be rare enough alone. You clearly misunderstood.
@N5AlexJT KSE took us back to Premier League Champions with many summers of hard work. You’re crashing out because you think real life is career mode. Clubs like Arsenal are not throwing £90m at Kroupi out of desperation. 😂
@notrophiesfc There isn’t a hope in hell you’re one of the Arsenal fans who waited 2 decades for that Premier League trophy. Just some entitled moron who has decided to hop on the band wagon and wants us to be Man City. 🖕
@submisoish@CAJB_AFC They have spent £240m between van Hecke (year left on deal), Fernandes (relegated) and Tonali. A team will quite obviously make signings if they drastically overpay, it’s not rocket science. Arsenal are a bit more intelligent than that desperation, which is why they weren’t 17th.
@CAJB_AFC They are all teenagers who can only get off on the dopamine of new signings during summer. The team has just won the league and needs to be patient in this broken market for upgrades. 240m for van Hecke, Tonali and Fernandes is desperation rather than anything to cry about.
@lukestanley03 Would these other big clubs have to spend huge money to compete with City, had they and Chelsea not financially gazumped the league a long time ago? This is all a result of a cheating institution who is yet to face any ramifications for their 115 charges.
@lukestanley03 City operate on a different level at this. They sign Marmoush’s, Nico’s etc. at big money and discard them for more shiny toys whereas other clubs face consequences. City ruined the market yrs ago and the league’s competitiveness as a whole for that matter but will try to deflect
