This was not one of them as Claus would have had to initiate the review with VAR and it would have had to be replayed at live speed. Only stopped at point of contact. But VAR initiated it.

The issue was Claus not seeing it live or initiating the review himself, but being tipped off by VAR and use of slow-motion in a way deemed misuse of VAR per FIFA rules. First non corrupt move by FIFA in decades.

VAR made contact with Claus upon seeing it in slow motion and “suggested” to Claus that he should take a look in slow motion, violating the process of VAR usage and whose job it is to initiate in that scenario 🤪.

Not intentional, but intention doesn’t matter. The issue is head ref didn’t card it at all during live play. VAR saw slow mo and brought it to head ref attn.
