Hello my names Leigh. I am a visually impaired cosplayer who believes in self advocacy and advocating on my disability. follow me on Instagram: H.P.Ravens97
@thetimtracker ok I’m going to universal Studios eventually and honestly am hoping maybe to meet you. I’m wondering what tips you might have for me? What things to do in WWOHP. Thanks!
@_TheHopeTheory_ this is an open discussion question for you and your friends. What do you think of people who have no disabilities cosplaying or costume playing a character with a disability. For example someone cosplaying Toph (from Avatar the last airbender) who is blind when
Said cosplayer is not blind. Or cosplaying Artie from glee when they are not in need of a wheelchair. Me personally I’m not ok with it only because it seems odd. I want to cosplay Toph though because we share a visual disability in common so it seems fitting
I am ok with the new Ariel (Halle Bailey) because Ariel doesn’t really “come from” anywhere. Meaning she isn’t Norwegian or American. But the second you change my Norwegian princess and queen is the moment I get involved. I have waited too long to have a princess of the same
Heritage as me and I refuse to let people take that away from me. Elsa is MY princess(queen) because she represents my background. Anna is MY princess because she also represents my background. You have NO right to change that. She is a proud Norwegian just like me. And that’s
To be actually blind by letting her dog lead her like a guide dog and by looking like she can’t see. Here’s the video. let me know what you think. this isn’t out of hate but rather to educate.

I am showcasing this youtuber to you because they do some , what I feel counts as, ableist stuff at time markers 4:50 , 4:59 , and 5:00 where they make a joke about the youtuber being blind and needing a guide dog instead of her service dog and at minute marker 5:00 she pretends
These words. “Are you blind? Is Kota your guide dog?” In a joking manner. I was like excuse me? You are not blind or visually impaired so you do not ever get to joke about it. His ableist attitude was like “oh it’s just a joke about blind people” we don’t joke about this stuff!
When a youtuber with a disability turns out to be extremely ableist towards blind and visually impaired people. So this youtuber decided to let her boyfriend joke about blindness. Here’s what he said. He said to a 100% sighted chick with a service dog aka his girlfriend
Ok but like my idea of a perfect first date is going to the art institute and doing a tactile tour where we get to touch and feel each piece of art. It’s exclusively for those who are blind and visually impaired and their companion groups. But I’m just saying that’d be romantic
Wondering if someone can help me out. I want to go to a twins game on my dads works special event day but I would need to be up close as I’m visually impaired. I looked at the site and it says they offer seats for those who are low vision or blind. Would I choose accessible
