MareNostrum5, one of the most powerful supercomputers in the world with the power of 314 million billion calculations per second!
Congrats to my colleagues at @BSC_CNS who worked hard during the last months on #MareNostrum5 and its infrastructure.
Now, it is time to move completely out of the amazing world of microorganisms and more focus on the human genome, complex diseases, population based studies and personalized medicine.
Keep tuned for more updates!
The last paper of my PhD is finally out!

Yesterday was one of the most beautiful days of my life, the day I successfully defended my PhD. It was a privilege and challenging journey, and behind this success is a list of folks; relatives, friends, and colleagues that helped me grow professionally and personally (1/3).
@ManuelPorcar1 @JuliPereto@Biotechmind @Esther_M03 @NgelaVidal@javierpascuall@Adriiiel2s@i2sysbio The list is endless!
So grateful for all the support & help along every step. The big smile on my face shows my gratitude for all the support I've received during these years.
This work was a amazing collaboration with Alba Guillén and @Adriiiel2s under the supervision of @ManuelPorcar1,
The result of this research revealed that the table salt can be a cheap source of halophilic bacteria and archaea with enormous biotechnological potentials
Very glad to share our recent work on the halotolerant and halophilic microbiome of the table salts. If you are interested to know more, it is now online in Frontiers in Microbiology
