Terribly sad, Jim. Quite a shock. Such a good bloke. Favourite memory: the way he gave up his bed in Freo while covering the America's Cup to save two drunk, holidaying cadets (yeah, I may have been one) who had missed the last train to Perth. He slept on the floor. Gentleman.
Numbing news overnight with the sudden death of Wayne Smith, one of Australia’s finest sports journalists. Fearless, relentless, exposed more rugby secrets than anyone, a brilliant turn of phrase + most of all a loyal friend. #RIPSmithy
Last night a TV programme spoke only of the #family. Nothing else exists. We #childless/free do exist. Are we nonhuman? Is it becoming #discrimination? Many of us feel emptiness and loss. #Loneliness. Many are #ageingwithoutchildren not by choice. Acknowledgement please.
ADELAIDE FRIENDS! My show "Speed: The Movie, The Play" opens tonight at @gluttony_fringe. It's on a bus, you can't miss us. Cannot wait to get people on and dazzle them with our high-octane, low-budget action comedy. Come along! https://t.co/3VbFLHsjA7
People who wait in line until they're at the counter, then look at the blackboard menu to decide what they want. Then ask little Johnny what he wants. And Gran. Then change from wholemeal to rye. Then go back to wholemeal. Then look for their wallet.
What is a mostly benign thing that drives you up the wall? For me it’s a lack of self awareness in public. People who slam to a halt in front of you while walking, people who get on a train and stop at the door so you can’t get on, people blithely blocking supermarket aisles.
Today we remember Greg Shackleton, Malcolm Rennie, Tony Stewart, Brian Peters and Gary Cunningham who were murdered in Balibo, East Timor. While a coronial inquest identified an Indonesian military officer likely to have ordered the murder, no one has ever been called to account.
Sydney friends! Another plug for my show #TitanicTheMovieThePlay, which is back tonight, Saturday & Sunday at the Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour. It's lots of fun.

In Opinion
"Human beings, if they are to thrive, need a bit of privacy — walls and a door," @nytdavidbrooks writes about open plan workplaces. "And yet employers, decade after decade, neglect to give workers what they need." https://t.co/hGsQEw5SWK
