The @ciw's own Gerardo Reyes Chavez is in the @Enquirer, urging @kroger to join the @FairFoodProgram:
“Earlier this year, the @USDOL publicly outed Kroger as a buyer of watermelons harvested by workers trapped in a forced labor ring.”

“It is time for @kroger not only to recognize the problem, but to turn to the only proven solution... the presidential-medal winning @FairFoodProgram, which has effectively eradicated forced labor and other extreme abuses on participating farms…”

In memoriam: We have two Julia Reichert docs playing for free this week: American Factory https://t.co/pgKwJ73g8E and Seeing Red https://t.co/nvhy576myE
Last night we lost a true giant. A trailblazing filmmaker, Julia Reichert dedicated her life to documenting socially and historically significant stories that gave voice to so many, particularly the working class and women.
We're deeply saddened to hear that pioneering filmmaker Julia Reichert has passed away.
Celebrate her amazing life & work with GROWING UP FEMALE ('71)—her powerful first documentary (codirected with Jim Klein)—an essential touchstone of feminist cinema. https://t.co/DSDJ54EfpC
This is a terrible loss for our community and workers everywhere. We mourn the loss of our dear friend Julia Reichert, and send our deepest condolences to her friends and her family.
Julia was a founding member of our DSA chapter, and was also a founding member of @DemSocialists
"[A] woman who could keenly see, then acknowledge, then lift and with bold voice champion, both visually and in thought, for those that are marginalized or are sparsely heard."

Today, we are deeply saddened by the loss of Julia Reichert. Often called the “godmother of American independent documentaries,” Julia directed and produced AMERICAN FACTORY, for which she and partner Steven Bognar won an Oscar. Thank you, Julia.
Don’t believe I ever met someone who lived as fully, as fiercely, as thoughtfully as Julia Reichert. She was a trailblazer, a warrior, a champion of working people, and simply the best company. Watch our @walkerartcenter dialogue to see what I mean.

Amazon claimed the fire was outside the building, videos show that is clearly INSIDE, workers scream to evacuate. Smoke filled the building, workers complained of irritated throats and burning eyes, one worker went to the ER after working their shift.
@SBWorkersUnited National Field Director Daisy Pitkin says Starbucks workers are in "the fight of their lives" for a first contract: "We need a hell of a lot of solidarity from allies." Here's how to sign the No Contract, No Coffee pledge. https://t.co/lkt7YlqP4m
