Apple: form follows function
Microsoft: form follows PM promotion incentives
Desktop Linux: form follows those sick-ass shaders the maintainer wrote last evening
@nyaaasen@bee_fumo Nothing to do with Win32 at all, which is a userspace ABI. This is drivers, so it's all kernelspace, which there's no compatibility layer for in either direction.
@suouWuki@valigo@BrodieOnLinux I haven't had that kind of issue in years. I basically never run into any game issues anymore on my x86-64 machines. Whole other can of worms on aarch64 though. Hopefully Steam Frame brings improvements to the situation.
@valigo@BrodieOnLinux Maybe I'm a little too hopeful, but I'd think if one knows about Wayland vs X11, they'd probably technical enough to mess with Proton configs, no?
@Wileybot2004@bee_fumo They don't prevent running it though. They just mean that they're not actively trying to develop for Wayland right now. It works well enough imo
@WindowsLatest This is ridiculous. Don't Microsoft developers actually use their PCs?? Why would they need to do anything special to understand how people use theirs? How removed from reality are they at this point?
