@petemorristwit Marine law is different to the law on the land...all sorts of odd things can happen ...read up on the laws of salvage for instance...the smugglers boat could likely be deemed to be the property of the people who took control once it was abandoned by its original owners.

@BenGrahamUK I think this is likely to happen when you organise against the police. Never forget Al Capone was done on tax fraud...but it kept him off the streets so they had the same result they would have had from a messier prosecution for racketeering etc.

@Para_glider69 He literally endangered himself leaning out of an inflatable at sea to slash at a boat with a person clearly in it from HIS footage. Seems like he wanted to be arrested and he achieved that he wanted, he seems to want to be a martyr. Now Steven/Tommy is telling people to donate!

@TiceRichard The Emergency Workers and French Police do not slash boats at sea with people in them on the whole, reason being it is wrong to endanger life. He was not stopping any migrants (they were gone) he was staging his own arrest by the look of what he had filmed and published imho.

@JackieD86388657 The loss of free movement from the EU left a vacuum in terms of jobs esp. in hospitality. A vacuum provides impetus to fill those gaps from somewhere & people smugglers used it. Also Brexit cocked up our ability to send people back + made Europe pissed off with us. We pay 4Brexit

@Inevitablewest There was a person onboard (it is in his footage) and nobody should damage a boat to endanger any person relying on a boat to stay afloat. There are International Shipping Laws which cover this, but it is common sense. I guess Tommo will use this to look the martyr for his gang.

@MarkHeath45 He put a knife in a boat with only an emergency worker in it; not only does he bad mouth the RNLI he creates extra work for them potentially? Pointless act of self promotion and it got him arrested. Result for him though he will now play the martyr for ever.
