Crisp. Thrilling. Magnificent. Simply put, David Fincher delivers one of the best films of 2023 and perhaps one of the best films of his career with #TheKiller(🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟). Not sure how else to say it, but this movie kicks ass. This film is made in such an uber violent and uber funny way, only a sicko like David Fincher could be responsible. In typical Fincher fashion, every single solitary detail in this film is accounted for- The Killer is meticulous filmmaking at its finest. But what elevates this film amongst Fincher’s filmography is Michael Fassbender. Fassbender feels like a living, breathing embodiment of Fincher on camera. His voiceover is chilling, his line delivery is haunting. Fassbender’s absolute command as an actor allows Fincher to put his own unique take on the hitman, neo-noir genre. Together, Fincher & Fassbender excel. So far, 2023 has been filled with colossal films. The Killer feels like one of them.
