I partnered with my friend @kierstennash at Public Works Collaborative for our recent issue of the PPS Dispatch to explore Aging in Place and how it connects to opportunities for more resilient systems, communities, places & services. Check it out here: https://t.co/wKT4teOonG
Thinking about the role language plays in making my 'work-self' legible enough for others, while keeping the outlines blurry enough for me to continue exploring & evolving. metaphors are a way to bridge the language gap & create an engaging, relatable, and legible frame!
A post from the language fold: metaphors as bridges, blurry lines around the shape of'me’ and why we should invite each other into our messes.

Happy 1 year Indie-versary to me! I feel just as excited and scared as I did then, but in different ways. Slowly stepping towards the spaces, types of work, and relationships that I want to participate in. https://t.co/JvZQM7VwVB
@kylascan 100% I grew up in Germany: the high school model was three tiered. One of the education paths (basically trade school/apprenticeship model for electricians, carpenters, car mechanics) You do grade 5-9 50/50 in classroom setting & as apprentice. Wish we had more of that here.
“wu-wei: the Chinese state of flow described as non-doing. ‘According to the central text of Daoism, the Dao De Jing: ‘The Way never acts yet nothing is left undone’. This is the paradox of wu wei. It doesn’t mean not acting, it means ‘effortless action’ or ‘actionless action’.”
Thinking about public writing as bread-crumbing for my future self...as a way to connect the dots looking back and using my story as a divination rod: https://t.co/hNi5YSBGnI
Why is it so hard to hit publish on something that is by design never finished...? Some explorations on the tension between unfocused thinking and focused making are up over at @ambiguityfornow 👀
The 1st edition of "Dancing w/ Tensions" series is out! A collection of readings & musings around the tension between unfocused thinking & focused making. Took me a min bc, turns out, its hard to publish sth that by design is an open-ended exploration: https://t.co/Y9u16pMsAa
Been feeling the push & pull of tension between “focused making” vs “unfocused thinking” or creation vs distraction (or the “downstream of screwing around unproductively” via @visakanv) so gonna kick off this series exploring that next…
I’ve been thinking about this line @visakanv said yesterday, about how people can update their positions over time as they make mistakes but not update their position-updating mechanism, and I think that broadly describes smart but ineffective people.
ok i don't spend a lot of time on youtube but i discovered this amazing ... writing project? where someone commented on the same billie eilish remix video every day for a year with a little note about their life

Such a lovely day of learning at PWDR where I shared my thoughts on shared learning spaces this morning.
If you missed any of the talks today, they’ll be available online in a few weeks via @greatquestionco. Also huge shoutout to @thereasaf for an amazing agenda & facilitation.
In “Trusted Spaces: A Requirement for Research” Independent Researcher @Lenacorinna shared how to:
👉Embrace a learner’s mindset & humility as an individual
👉Build trusted relationships & informed intuition as a team
👉Create shared learning spaces that foster collaboration
