In Geography lessons this week we have been learning about geographical features. The children located landmarks and features on the map and explained how to get there from a given starting point. They also learnt locational language and directional language.
Year 3 have enjoyed exploring @microbit_edu micro bits as part of our @ICT_MrP DARES computing project. We have been designing and coding our own animations.
As part of their @Cornerstonesedu DT topic ‘Push and Pull’, Year 2 have been learning about different mechanisms. They have enjoyed creating slider, lever and linkage mechanisms and used their learning to design and create an Easter card with a mechanism. Fantastic work Year 2.
For their final OAA lesson, Year 2 enjoyed a scavenger hunt to find certain items and then use these to create the Easter bunny. They had to work as a team and use their communication skills to successfully complete the task. Well done Year 2.
The members of our Year 6 Maths Club enjoyed their end of term arithmetic treasure hunt. It gave them the opportunity to put their skills to the test and earn sweets along the way!
1/2 Year 4 have had a fun day by The Stour. They have learned about the creatures that live in our rivers, river food chains and the negative impact that humans can have on our rivers.
Year 2 absolutely loved their Flag football lesson today with Coach Robbie from @Teamthemekent
. They combined their previous learning to either remove their opponents tag or successfully pass them with the ball. Well done Year 2.
To complete their Magnificent Monarchs topic, Year enjoyed a trip to @hevercastle . They were given a private tour of Anne Boleyn’s childhood home as well as a chance to wear and explore Tudor artefacts before enjoying the Tudor play area. They were extremely well behaved all day
Year 5 had their final session at forest school and enjoyed smores, hot chocolate, hole digging, swinging and singing! Thank you so much Harrietsham school and Ms Bradley!
This week for their OA&A lesson, Year 6 enjoyed an orienteering session in the sunshine. They used a map of the school to locate hidden letters displayed on cones. They then used these to spell a hidden code. Great teamwork, Year 6!
his week year 1 has started a new @WhiteRoseEd maths topic - Mass and Volume. The children had a lot of fun collecting different items from around the classroom to weigh. They made predictions and learnt that the heaviest item the scales went down and vice versa.
Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their OAA treasure hunt today, despite the very changeable weather. They demonstrated outstanding team work! Thanks to Coach Robbie from @Teamthemekent for another great session.
Year 3 explored the impact of different shaped cams as part of their @Cornerstonesedu DT ‘making it move’ unit before designing their own automaton toy
Rainbow Class have been exploring the scents and textures of different plants and fruits as part of their Cornerstones project: Ready Steady Grow. The crushed herbs and flowers made fantastic perfume!
As part of their Healthy Me @JigsawEduGroup lessons, Rainbow Class have been learning about good food choices and the importance of brushing teeth twice a day!
Rainbow Class have been learning about minibeasts as part of their Creep Crawl Wriggle @Cornerstonesedu project. They have been busy designing and creating new bugs, making minibeast hats and collecting snails!
