KINGDOM FINANCE PRINCIPLES: MONEY SHOULD NOT COMMAND YOU
Ecclesiastes 10:19 (NKJV): “A feast is made for laughter, and wine makes merry; but money answers everything.”
God designed money to answer to His children, not to command them.
When a man is commanded by money, it means that money has become his master and his god. This is why Jesus said in Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters... You cannot serve God and mammon.”
Money is a servant. It should never become the voice that defines your character, your choices, your relationships, your honour, or your obedience to God.
How do you know that a man or woman is under the command of money?
One of the signs is an adverse change in values, attitude, and character because of money. For example, before some people were elevated financially, they were courteous and warm. They greeted their friends and honoured the people around them. But ever since money started whispering in their ears that they are now better than those they once walked with, they can pass by without even a simple hello. That is money commanding a man.
For others, they will do anything for money but cannot do the same for God and His Kingdom. Their sacrifices for money can never compare to their sacrifices for the gospel. They can wake up early, stay up late, cross borders, endure pressure, and inconvenience themselves for financial gain, yet become tired, unavailable, or uninterested when it comes to the things of God. That, too, is a sign of a man or woman under the command of money.
The Bible says in Psalm 62:10, “If riches increase, do not set your heart on them.” Therefore, refuse to be commanded by money. Let money answer to the purposes of God in your life. Let it serve the gospel. Let it bless men. Let it solve problems. Let it advance the Kingdom. But never let it sit on the throne of your heart. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the wisdom of Your Word. I refuse to be ruled, commanded, or defined by money. My heart belongs to You. My values, character, honour, humility, and obedience are not for sale. As You increase me, keep my heart humble, generous, and yielded to Your purposes. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
THE BELIEVER’S AUTHORITY
Luke 10:18-19 (NKJV): “And He said to them, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.’”
Our Lord Jesus, in our theme scripture, unveils a fundamental truth that ought to define the vision of every child of God. He says, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.”
Think about it for a moment. The accuser of the brethren, the embodiment of darkness, the one who tormented and afflicted many, was cast down from a great height at unimaginable speed. He did not descend with dignity. He fell and was thrown down in defeat.
No wonder Christ was never intimidated by the enemy. He knew, with divine certainty, the humiliation and disgraceful fall of Satan. Because of that vision, He told His disciples, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.”
You must see what Christ saw. The enemy should not convince you that your situation is beyond redemption. He fell like lightning from heaven. He should not persuade you that your sickness is terminal and without hope. He fell like lightning. He should not occupy your mind as one with power over your destiny. He fell like lightning.
Has he attempted to destroy your marriage? He fell like lightning. Has he come after your children? He fell like lightning. Has he whispered that your ministry, business, calling, or future is finished? He fell like lightning. Has he tried to bury you under discouragement, fear, shame, or despair? See what Jesus saw: the enemy is fallen. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the victory I have in Christ Jesus. I refuse to see my life through the eyes of fear, discouragement, or defeat. I choose to see the enemy fallen, disarmed, and defeated. Christ is in me, and He is greater than anything that can come against me. My mind is renewed, my faith is strengthened, and my eyes are fixed on the finished work of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
