For the first time in years, my convention calendar is completely empty for the rest of 2026 and all of 2027 😮… Are there any cons I should be looking at or do I fill my agenda with wildlife photography trips instead? 🤔 First world problems LOL
Here's an example of how you don't always have to wait for golden hour in photography, and in some cases, your photo may look better in afternoon lighting. You just have to find the right subjects for the right lighting.
I'll give some more examples in the next few days.

Don't freak out over that check engine light, its not usually an immediate emergency.
Some shops and mechanics try to scare customers as if their engine is going to blow up if they don't take care of that light immediately, but here is the reality.
Nearly 80% or more of "Check Engine" lights are triggered directly by the vehicle's emissions system, meaning it's emissions related.
In fact, the primary regulatory reason the Check Engine light, also called the Malfunctioning Indicator Light (MIL), was standardized in vehicles was to alert drivers when a fault causes tailpipe emissions to exceed federal standards by 1.5 times or more.
Furthermore that light used to be a "check emissions" light. But people pretty much blew off that warning and did not rush into shops for repairs so it was changed to a "check engine" light.
Not an Emergency: A solid check engine light means the computer found a fault code, but the issue is not severe enough to cause immediate catastrophic engine damage or require pulling over on the side of the road.
But I am not saying to totally ignore that light as that can ruin expensive parts over time. For example, a failing oxygen sensor or a lean/rich fuel condition can eventually destroy your catalytic converter and other serous issues.
When convenient (if vehicle appears to be performing okay) have the vehicle scanned for fault codes to get an idea of what is causing the problem. Most auto parts will do this for free, but be careful as some may try to sell parts you may not need. The problem could something as simple as a loose or not sealing gas cap.
But a flashing check engine light is a more serious problem! A flashing check engine light means your engine has an active misfire that is dumping unburned fuel into the exhaust system, which can quickly ruin your catalytic converter.
Do not drive for any extended period at all with a flashing light. Do not keep driving long (towing preferred), as this can cause permanent engine damage or start a fire from that hot convertor. Continuing to drive can turn a minor fix, such as a bad spark plug or ignition coil, into an expensive total engine breakdown or a ruined catalytic converter costing thousands of dollars.

You can see there is luck here (and in the others at the link comments) but also a huge amount of talent:
“If you’re a theater graduate and you come to me to give you opportunity because no one has ever given you opportunity before, I’ll look at you like an idiot that just wasted their parents money and I’ll never give you opportunity”
“You’re carrying an iPhone and you’re telling me you don’t have money for camera to be shooting your own content and monologues?”
“The came resolution of iPhone 6 is the same thing as 5D Mark 3, so what other opportunities do you want?”

One of the hardest birds you can photograph in North America. It's always a mental chess game to close the distance on the belted kingfisher in hopes of getting any good shots. These birds 100% laugh at your failures.
Oh no 😩

The Leica M6 is indeed a classic/vintage model (originally launched in the 1980s and became a legend). By using real film rolls, the photos taken with it have real, organic grain, along with the classic chemistry of that era. Many people look for it today precisely to escape the digital world and naturally achieve that nostalgic and authentic texture.
The Leica M11 is a very modern camera (launched in the 2020s). It offers ultra-sharp, clean, and professional image quality and clarity. It doesn't aim to deliver "low quality" or vintage special effects by default; on the contrary, it is an ultra-high-tech tool.
As for someone using both cameras at the same time: it's someone who wants the best of both worlds. On one hand, they keep the purity and unpredictable magic of analog film with the M6, while on the other, they secure the versatility, speed, and precision of cutting-edge digital technology with the M11. They are a passionate who values both traditional craftsmanship and modern power
