#ChinaBiotech is the new cool kid in the town of #biotech. Here is my first #podcast that tries to provide the backstory of #ChinaBiotech's rapid rise: https://t.co/sleIr50AYq
@BiotechCH Speaking China, they just approved the first brain implant, a device that @elonmusk 's @neurolink intends to develop as well. Any comments on this news?
https://t.co/OVFLVMp1rx
@BiotechCH Legend has 50% of Carvykti rights and Arcellx has similar rights of their BCMA cart as well. Arcellx got acquired for about 8bn while legend stands at 3.5bn.
Why does the mkt assign very different value to the two companies?
@BiotechCH@NatureBiotech And my additional 2 cents about the Nature Biotech paper. https://t.co/nnGofj8Lmb
Plus, echo what @SamFazeli8 said about the AZ/CSPC deal, my thoughts here as well: https://t.co/0P0YCOU0BQ
@BiotechCH To echo guests' comments on the fast early-stage clinical development in China, this @NatureBiotech paper highlights their unique systems. It's more than just IIT. Our FDA is not as flexible or efficient as theirs, period. https://t.co/8UtqVgPBsS
@BiotechCH My two cents about this fascinating 13-month JeminCare / RAPT / GSK journey that started with the lowest point of RAPT: https://t.co/DCdHYUSNUv
@BiotechCH For the RAPT 2.2 b acquisition is a great example to leverage China innovation. TCGx capital paid 35 million upfront for an asset that saved RAPT, the company generated data and made good plans, and RAPT exitwith 2.2bn. Most gain will go to American investors and employees.
@BiotechCH Now Bourla scored a win for our pharma companies AND he also supports China biotech licensing due to its benefits to Pfizer and other big pharmas, what is the probability to have the draft EO to ban China deals? @SamFazeli8 ?
@BiotechCH Licensing is NOT the largest source of capital for #ChinaBiotech. #HKEX biotech index has more than doubled in 2025.
Many IPOs completed or in planning for HKEX as well. More investor money will have flown to China than pharmas by YE 2025

@maxonwifi At least week's @BiotechCH , some suggest the US govt will ban the China-to-US licensing deals, which would mitigate pressure on US biotech but make pharma like @pfizer to pay more for similar assets. China trade seems to help Western pharma while hurt Western biotech. Agree?
@BiotechCH If we agree drug development is more than biological sciences, but also other natural sciences, China's advantages over the US are even more stunning here. Blaming them as IP theft to gain advance might give us blind spot. https://t.co/vsDyty95Pb
@BiotechCH@daphnezohar China might steal IP before, but how can we still think China relies on IP theft if they lead the US by top publications and IP filings by a HUGE margin? Check #NatureIndex and see how many Chinese univ at top 50. I think our govt needs to do better.

My two cents in today's $12-billion deal between #HengRui and @GSK.
With a mkt cap of $65 bn, HengRui is now the largest Asia-based innovative pharma company.
@BiotechCH@TimOpler what is the median no of bidders for BD deal? Also, @endpts article reports the debate among investors about the rise of China biotech, which also interviewed Tess.
Given the essential need for pharma to buy assets & revenue, what the pharmas' view to this debate?
@BiotechCH While we are "hearing" positive news about our gov agencies, China is neck-to-neck with the US in biotech, especially in the human capital dimension.
Isn't the current attack on Harvard the best gift to China biotech?
