I really liked the short story of the German Submarine that found a horrible sunken Idol, but my FAVORITE piece by H. P Lovecraft is, The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath.
I haven't read it in years but I seem to remember it follows an astral projectionist.. who I think also might be dead? Randolph Carter as he confronts ancient goofy Wisdom in order to attain access to the farthest, fabled, forbidden realms of aethereal Dreamspace.
Also I'm pretty sure Cats help him get to the moon 🤔
