Jesus: "I am the way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6)
Christian: "So you are my God... HALLELUJAH!" (and you try to bow in joy), but then he tells you:
Jesus: "It is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him ONLY.'" (Matthew 4:10)
Christian: "But you, Jesus, are my Lord and my God!"
Jesus: "I am a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God." (John 8:40)
Christian: "But you died for our sins, you must be God!"
Jesus: "The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself." (Ezekiel 18:20)
Christian: "But you said, 'I and the Father are one.'" (John 10:30)
Jesus: "Yes, I and the Father are one in purpose, but... 'The Father is greater than I.'" (John 14:28)
Christian: "But your miracles and judgment prove that you are God."
Jesus: "By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me." (John 5:30)
Christian: "But you said, 'Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.'" (John 14:9)
Jesus: "The Father who sent me has testified about me. You have never heard His voice or seen His form." (John 5:37)
Then Jesus leaves, and the Christian calls out, "Jesus, Jesus, where are you going?" A strange voice replies:
Voice: "In those days, he went out to the mountain to pray, and spent the whole night praying to God." (Luke 6:12) "And going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed." (Matthew 26:39)
Christian: "Jesus, Lord, we believe you performed miracles, and in your name, we cast out demons. Don't leave me!"
Jesus: "Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'" (Matthew 7:22-23)
Christian: "But why will you leave us when we worship you?"
Jesus: "In vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." (Mark 7:7)
Christian: "Please don't leave me, Jesus, I'm confused. Show me the way to eternal life."
Jesus: "This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." (John 17:3)
Christian: "Jesus, who is this God you are speaking about?"
Jesus: "Your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) ... "My Father and your Father, my God and your God." (John 20:17)

When Abu Bakr tried to stop them, the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Leave them, O Abu Bakr, for every nation has an Eid, and this is our Eid.”

Most of us cross our thresholds every day without realising we are entering a spiritual space. We see an empty room, but the heart of a believer sees an opportunity.
