Let the forfeits begin 🏈

The Buchanan Bears will be forfeiting their Week 1 win over the Golden West Trailblazers after using an ineligible player who was required to sit out the 30-day period.

And this could be just the beginning.

Teams have to figure out player eligibility before school even starts and that’s the problem.
Football practices begin during the summer, schools and administrators may not yet be fully back in operation, and games are being played before the school year officially begins.

Last year we had plenty of forfeits.

A note to all schools: If there is any question about a player’s eligibility, DO NOT PLAY HIM until you officially know he is eligible.

It’s much better to miss one player for a game than to win it on the field and have to give it back afterward.
